I think if you pick the right alloys you can't beat the black on black look. Got exactly the same on mine and it looks great

3B7 601 171 XRW    That's the part number bud, search genuine for that on ebay, or a trip to TPS/dealer  :happy2:

Following this advice i bought the following & they transformed the look of the wheels (they still need redoing but ill do this after the winter) :

Austin 7,5''x18'' 5x112 ET49

They're the factory fitted wheels on the mk7 GTI and GTI PP. In the meantime VW updated the mk7 with its mk7.5 generation.

Had my mk5 GTi for a couple of months now and started to get things sorted, first thing was to get the wheels refurbished, they were originally gold but had lacquer coming off etc so have had them completely stripped and painted in BMW Singapore Grey, the insides all painted and laquered as well!  Next up are the RS6/R8 brakes with 360mm discs to be fitted then full colour change/wrap!

Couple of pics of wheels, plus my other new toy I picked up at the weekend!

What are peoples thoughts on dark grey or black wheels on a black car? My R32 has the standard silver wheels and they'll need a refurb before too long.

Rotiform, bbs, 3sdm, vossen

The amount of concavity is really dependant on the wheel specs

Just got my mk5 GTI and swapped 18" r32 8j alloys for 19" calibre 9j which looks amazing but because I'm using my phone I cant find the option to add photos to show you all. For some reason there is now a knocking noise at the front but when I look nothing is rubbing or too close to be hitting. Could it be because of the wheel size?
