Hello Alex.
One question about the TT hub: is the ball joint mounting point lower on the TT hub? Or is the GTI ball joint mounting point lower than the TT one?
From you picture I could only tell that the steering mounting point is lower on the TT, but not much else.

As the ball bearings is lined up it easy to see the balljoint point is much lower on the TT hubs Rex

   Unfortunately I was to tired to drink anything  .
Now, that I took a closer look, I saw that the GTI hub had the ball joint attached. It is the same color as the hub so it was quite well camouflaged and I thought the lower part of the ball joint was in fact the part where the ball joint will be attached.
So, it is clear that the ball join mounting point is lower on the TT hub which translates in a higher center of roll which improves handling. I will have to buy some of these also  .

I've been thinking about what to do next apart from fitting the R8 calipers when the 18's go back on.

And I'm going to try and fit equal length drive shafts using a half shaft.  I know of another car the the vag range that has this as standard and I already have a spare shorter shaft.  All I don't know is whether the block has the same mounting points and how the half shaft fits to the gearbox.

Alex should you stumble upon a set of TT driveshaft please think of me will you?? 
The equal length driveshaft must include an extra link and mounting to accomondate the fixing of that link right??

I will keep an eye out.  I'm looking for some TT bits at the moment.

Interesting with the half shaft, i know it was an issue with the corolla AE82 supercharger torque steering that is, if people didn't fit the equal length driveshafts from the japanese version.
I can't say my gti has torque steer, does your vRS suffer from that Alex?? 
Or is there other reasons for you wanting to fit this??

Over the last two days I've been having clutch issues again.  Pedal would feel fine, but if it was held to the floor for a while then it would stay there.  Once pulled back up it was fine again.

Only thing this could mean is a leak somewhere.  Finally had some time tonight to have a good look at the car and it turned out to be the master cylinder.  It suffered a hairline crack on the outlet port which allowed fluid to leak past the seal.

Fitted a new one and I'm happy once again.

Still got a load of other stuff to get done on the car, but I'm way to busy at the moment.

I've been held up by MOT, as i want to fit my Tarox at the same time, and i know they won't pass MOT, all has been posponed 'till next week 
But the boot is filled to the brim with parts so something has to happen soon

TT steering arms are currently being fitted, but its more of a ball ache than I first planned.  Not enough threads for the arms to fit into the standard rack.  Not safe enough for my liking.

I'm going to try and fit the TT steering rack now.  Just hope it codes ok.

You are giving me a headache Alex, i was hoping for a painless fitment this week 
anyone have a spare TT steering rack they would like to donor to some experiments??
