What ARBs are you using Kev? Also, I've been chatting to Damian at DPM and looking to get the Powerflex Handling kit. Are there any other bushes worth changing other then what they advise?
Cheers
Louie
Hi mate, my full chassis spec is as follows:
Eibach ARBs (26, 23). Rear ARB on stiffest setting, front on softest.
Ohlins Road & Track coilovers - 50% damping front, 25% damping rear.
SuperPro 90 Shure console bushes.
TyrolSport Deadset.
TT front top mounts (stiffer rubber than GTI).
MK7 front calipers with Clubsport S 2 piece discs.
Rear completely stock.
Stock geometry.
That little lot is amazing. It's hard to believe a humble Golf can drive so well! I've been in far more exotic cars (most BMW M cars) and in all honesty, the little Golf chews on their bumpers easily on challenging roads.
I don't recommend poly bushes anywhere except the consoles, but take your pick from Powerflex, Whiteline or Superpro, they are all the same. By all means refresh the other bushes with new OEM rubber, but don't fit poly. Keep the chassis as predictable as possible and remember super sticky cornering in the dry doesn't always translate to predictable behaviour in crap weather. VW did all that tuning work for us with their chosen bushes and geometry
