I've done them both ways in the past, Mike..

More prep involved with spray but you get a better finish  :happy2:

I did an oil change and replaced the spark plugs. small but necessary. I didn't, however, remove the oil filter, Is it a hard job to do (for next time)?

Is there any easy way to clean the intake manifold without removal? was going to try today but gave up.

one of the main reasons i bought my car was the xenons,,, absolutelly amazing,,, teh self levelling is cool also,,, the light from them is amazing,,, my wife has a mk4 golf and driving with her main beam on is about the same as my normal headlights, and when i turn the main beam on it is literally like a landing strip,,,, cannot recommend them enough,,,, mines where factory fitted although dont know how difficult it is after market,,, i have heard the self levelling feature is difficult and expensive, basically when i turn the lights on they aim down then up to the correct height,,,, looooove them, think im gonna get the drl grill installed soon where the fog lights are, left to right strip that are to the side of the fog lights but i need to enquire about light set up and cost

^^^^ WANT!!  Part numbers for all the various bits and prices please! East to fit? From the dealers?

 :happy2:

i ordered from a parts company from Holland, HC automotive so its all in euros. Done this because VW linwood only get part drop offs on wednesdays, or at least they say that anyway. all genuine parts and i doubt there will be a big difference in price, once you convert it

1K0881286A - METAL RETAINING BRACKET - 17EUROS
N90812302 - POP RIVET - QTY 3 - 0.37EUROS EA.
1K0882607A - BLACK PLASTIC HOLDING BRACKET (INCLUDES A BACKING PLATE AND STRAP) - 28 EUROS
2 x 6mm bolts, i think i picket up 25mm length m6's, could use a bit longer, down to personal preference
The VW extinghuiser itself is like 100GBP+, so started a hunt and found an exact replica manufactured by a company called gloria and its available from B+Q, im told that gloria are more than likely the manufacturers of the VW one. it cost around £20, ebay had them aswell.

Fairly easy install, just dont do what i did and mount it under the Passenger side as it doesnt fit!! clashes with the slider mechanism. spent ages grinding out the rivets!!

Probably no room under my Recaro seats, especially as mine are slammed down to their lowest position. But I guess that bracket could be adapted to fit elsewhere?

wouldnt be able to comment, but its a good steel bracket so could be adaptable, ive seen a few folk use the safety kit fasteners in the boot to stow a fire extinguisher.

Also, i have the bluetooth module and there is still a bit of clearance.
