Got back from Afghanistan on Thursday  :jumpmove: Checked to see when my MOT is due, oops runs out today!

Booked in for Tuesday so car not going anywhere.

Rear windscreen wiper motor has packed up, not part of the MOT test from what I can see! Just in case I removed it and fitted a bung to the hole left by the spindle.

Bung prices, Halfords £1.78 for one! Wickes £1.58 for ten :happy2:

Fingers crossed she will pass.

I'm pretty sure you can drive it as long as its booked in somewhere

....Welcome home, buddy!  :happy2:

Just make sure you can prove it's booked in for MOT if challenged and don't be shy about saying where you've been as the reason why you're late for the MOT - Any decent Policeman is going to respect that. I'm also confident that you'll be legal when driving to the MOT Station.

I took 7 full garden refuse sacks to the local council tip in the Ed30 this afternoon, twigs, leaves, trimmings and general garden detritus. It occurred to me I've never seen a suitable solution to protect the car's interior when transporting muck and rubbish. Very conscious of the potential for scratching the plastics or putting a hole in the headlining..... There are various websites and shops on eBay that sell high sided boot liners - anyone have one?
Otherwise, I may make my own!

excuse the dirty car, i did only just clean it last sunday!

but ive got one of those early/flat mk5 badges and it has been suffering from white worm. i decided to buy some cheap vinyl so i could wrap it and see what it would look like before i have a go at spraying it..

looks quite nice i think, its going to be tricky to spray though!

....Did she return the favour and make you do some bendy sex too?

It's traditional that when a wifey or girlfriend kerbs a wheel on your beloved car, she has to submit to particular sexual favours....................

So it's only fair that you do the same for her as we live in an age of gender equality etc.

Thanks for the welcome home.

Car will prob be staying at home till Tuesday anyway if we get the forecast snow. Will drive the wifey to work tomorrow in her Mini as it has skinnier tyres than mine so should be better in the snow :happy2:

Really should get some winter tyres but need to get through MOT on Tuesday, hopefully should be ok but you never know!

If ok will get some and fit to my 17inch Monzas and use my recently purchased Monza shadow 2's from Bodger for the summer :happy2:

Went into town yesterday and met up with a good mate going by the name of Monte! I had recently collected some alloys for him when i was down south and it was time to get them on his car. Once they were fitted (and looking stunning i must add) I drove off with some lovely new 19" OZ Ultralaggera's in Crystal Titanium. Not going to fit them to the car until the weather is better as I just want to use them for Summer wheels. :pomppomp:

Finally took some pics of the wheels today! :jumping:

Fastest Ed30 in town........... :happy2:

New rims, a little dirty as taken straight off the car but still looking good! :pomppomp:

Was thinking about getting them finished in Anthracite or gloss black but I actually think the Crystal Titanium will look good against the Candy White now! :jumpmove:

Thanks again Monte, was a cracking Slap Up brekkie too mate! :happy2:

4WD Leon Cupra TTE420 K1, maybe slightly modded.

Pics?

Matto, fitted behind my winter 17's that really could do with a clean. ;)

The only downside was that when fitting them we had to swap the fluid pipes from one end to another, you know so that the smallest piston is first. One side went fine but the other had been cross-threaded and stripped threads! Goes to show that if you deal with flighty people you get a shoddy over priced service!

Took my Edition 30 up to VAGtech in Milton Keynes for Stage 1.  Can't recommend Darren there highly enough - top bloke.

Shame I couldn't really enjoy the change too much due to the snow - hoping for a drier, warmer weekend - but from what I've seen so far, the car's transformed.

Edition 30 - Reflex Silver - No. 1741.  Revo Stage 1, Forge DV, Sachs clutch, SuperPro Anti-Lift Kit, Pioneer AVH-8400BT, GoPoint and DashCommand.

Went powersliding in the snow/ice. At 5mph. Thankfully it was the staff carpark.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
