What did you and your MKV do today?

I have change the gearbox oil on every MK5 we have owned as this is by far the worse i have seen or in fact smelt. On the plus side there is virtually nothing in the way of metal filings :)

Then visited the new house we are waiting for completion on (fingers crossed Friday) reversed into the drive and SCRAPE!! oooch

Lucky you checked and noticed. Last thing you want is fuel leaking in a hot engine bag 

Yep...it was almost unnoticeable. There was only a small bit of moisture appearing on the brass fitting before evaporating, but it was at the speed of a dripping faucet. Drip drip drip. Happy to have caught it.

I've always used VW oil, it's not cheap at circa £15 a litre (you need 3 bottles as capacity is 2.5l)
I'll dig out the invoice later and find the part number :)

Had to fit a new Goodyear Assy 2 to the N/S/F - B****Y potholes caused a sidewall bulge. Still had 5mm tread left Aaaaaaaaaaaah!  ........

Air filter, plugs, leads, oil & filter on the Mk2.5 today.

Rounded the caliper bolt the other day so will do the discs & pads when I get a new bolt.
