Spent most of today trying to remove the oxidation from head lights and condensation from rear lights. Came to the conclusion I'd be better of upgrading and replacing both!

I did this on Tuesday. One headlight. Took me all afternoon  :surprised: The Megs Plastic X wouldn't shift it sufficiently so i had to resort to wet sanding. Cacked myself at first but i've actually got good results  :jumping:

Only 2 problems remain now: 1.) I have to find time to do the driver's side light 2.) I will need to regularly wax them both until i can get something a bit longer wearing than the dodo-juice wax i have as they will both have f-all UV protection otherwise (not that it prevented them from oxidising in the first place) :scared:

Wish i knew what threat they were under when i first bought her - then i would have waxed my headlights every time i washed her to prevent this situation ever occurring....  :chicken:

This morning I gave the golf a really good clean inside and out and used snow foam and finished with Autoglym HD Wax.

Looks ace!  :happy2:

Why why why do places have to air gun your bolts back on so you can't get them off! My impact wrench doesn't work and a long bar doesn't budge them!

Arghh

Replaced a bulb and fitted GTI seat inserts. They look a lot better than I expected...lovely little addition.

Got her rolling roaded on Saturday as the weather wasn't very nice.

Plus a new toy which was fun to play with

Quality not the best and the glare didn't help.

It's a pioneer app radio. Halfords have a good deal on at the moment. Then I downloaded an app called dashcommand and purchased an obd2 wifi reader off the bay for £12. Tells you pretty much everything boost psi, load %, temperature and so on.

put a new lower pendulum mount on as snapped mine.. looks like a might need a new wastegate as hit the coolant line on the wastegate where the engine rocked to much from the broken mount and has probaly damaged the threads.. hopefully will get away with using a different port!

give it a clean after anyway, and put my lower grille back on
