This little beauty arrived last night - to compliment the colour coded skirts I fitted last weekend, and ready to improve the rear end no end at the weekend!

I got it done by a company called readytofitpanels (.co.uk) and the work is excellent, as is the service and price! They use genuine new VW parts and pretty much do any part - ill be getting the front splitter done next. They are on eBay but better to ring direct and speak to Niall - he has been brilliant throughout.  I cannot recommend enough!

And the best bit - no need to take the old one off first  :jumpmove:

Will update with pics once on the car

EDIT: they supply the bumper too - brand new genuine part- as part of the price

looks good though they say equivalent to OEM... does that mean genuine parts?

How much did it cost to have done?

Yes, it isn't listed on their site but it is now listed in their eBay page. If you call the number on their website and speak to Niall you can explain exactly what you want - I.e, whole or just part of bumper sprayed like I did. He will know exactly what everyone means now he went through it with me  :signLOL:

It does indeed mean genuine parts, and I have recommended he changes that as I told him it was a big differentiator using genuine parts-which they are. The bumper has the VW logo, stamps and part numbers on the back.

I got it done for £150 all in including the new bumper, spraying and delivery. It should be £180, but as he had quoted me the 150 when I first enquired he honoured the price. Even at £180 I think it is a great price!

.
I don't quite get it: You pay £180 to get the exhaust trim part of a rear bumper painted black? Surely it would cost considerably less to have your own part painted and would give you a closer paint match if done by a professional bodyshop, and they'd fit it. A good bodyshop would also give you a courtesy car while they do the job and let it cure 24hrs.

Not sure I follow you RedRobin

For the money you get a new lower section of the bumper (that is £60 new from the dealer anyway) which then gets sprayed any colour you wish - in my case Tornado Red (the beat colour naturally ) and the bumper delivered. I just chose to have them not colour code the part where the exhaust goes through, and to leave it natural in its black plastic. They would spray it all one colour, or mixture of colours should you wish.

This also means you have your original bumper to sell on and not have to have the bumper off the car whilst it is at the bodyshop - my small local place wouldn't be able to offer a courteous car I'm sure.

sounds good... has the bumper got the VW stamps and do you know if it was smoothed and primed?

certainly does, was the first thing i checked - pic below.

the way they do it is to use a high build primer first, which is then smoothed, followed by the necessary number of coats of paint and lacquer etc, and then they polish at the end. I'm sure there is more to it than that, but that is the basics.

this is the ebay link to the particular item if it helps

I'm very happy with the finish!

I have also been chatting with Naill, he is currently looking into GTI side skirts and should be getting back to me soon.

Will be getting my rear bumper soon as the pervious owner of my golf has used black vinyl and it is peeling off.

Look forward to pics and too see how it fits :)

im not long after getting mine colour coded, front lip i left the lower part natural, got the side skirts sprayed & left the lower back part of the bumper natural.
It splits it up, no worries about the vinyl coming of to replace threw time...

Good job! :happy2:
If it's not broke, Mod it.....
