In this week update I have a lot of developments to share considering the previous.

I forgot to mention that last week the cambelt kit and the water pump were replaced for the first time.

Injectors cleaned and fitted:

Loba HPFP and standard HPFP:

HPFP cam follower: new vs old. I can't see a difference...

CTS Turbo turbo outlet pipe fitted:

CTS Turbo throttle pipe and Forge Motorsport oil catch tank system for vehicles with charcoal filter fitted:

Darkside Developments S3 uprated IC with alloy end tanks and silicone boost hoses fitted:

My mechanic had to replace Forge's pipes because they were too hard and forced the diverter valve hard pipe too much. Today he got a black silicone pipe and test fitted it with success. He also sorted the heat shield rubbing issue increasing the angle of the rear part a bit up:

Has you can see there isn't much room available for so many pipes in that engine bay area. During this fitting he found a cracked pipe going out of the EVAP canister. The small one in the picture. It still hadn't give any error so we weren't aware of this problem:

Today after a bit of online search he found a good and lasting solution. Now he just needs to get the required parts to reinforce that pipe so it doesn't crack again.

The airbox was wrapped in heat protective foil from Tesa. If I ever get another air intake I think I'll cover it with golden tape or something like it, better than this heat protective tape.

I hope I can go get my Ed. 30 next week. It'd be my birthday gift. :jumpmove:

One of the options on the table is just getting a silicon hose to replace the cracked hose.

Let's see what my mechanic decides to do. The space available isn't much and the oil catch can hoses rub with the carbon canister hose, which my mechanic doesn't like.

Talking with my mechanic today, he's going to cut the tip of the plastic connector and connect a silicon hose (cut to fit) to replace the OEM hose. That should be enough for the hose to curve down and not be pressed by the oil catch can hoses.

Then he'll be doing road tests and if all goes well, I'll just have to wait another week. :pomppomp:

Brakes and suspension were already tested before starting working in the engine.

With the catch can... Has the washer bottle been re-located? Is this the same on a mk6?

The Forge kit has a new filler for the washer bottle that sits beside the catch can.

That silicon hose connects the washer bottle to the fiiler.

I've found these kits:
Forge: http://www.heltuning.com/volkswagen-golf-mk6-08-2.0-gti-oil-catch-tank-system-by-forge-motorsport.html
CTS Turbo: http://www.ctsturbo.com/cart/products/CTS_Turbo_MK6_TSI_Catch_Can_Kit-4466-0.html

EDIT:
I remembered that you might be the owner of the Ed. 35. Well, you have a mk6 with the same engine of the Ed. 30, a BYD, so you better not mention that you have a mk6 GTI when it relates to engine parts. It can confuse other people. Yours uses the same parts as mine. If you have a charcoal canister, the kit for your car is like the one I bought.

Cheers mate! Wasn't expecting you to go off and find me one :)

Yeah mines the ED35, I was just thinking about placement in the engine bay - which is the same across GTI and ED35.

Not sure if I should even bother with it being a weekend toy, with little to no track use.

I'd get the R-tech PCV delete kit since you won't be using the car much. It will still get the inlet full of carbon with time if you don't do a PCV delete.

I also think that Forge's kit while not being as good as R-tech's, will pass my country's MOT without problems, while R-Tech's and its draining tubes wouldn't.
