Gutted for you on your turbo , what sort of power was your re map running ? also thought the turbos were a stronger unit on later model 140 tdi s . . anyway hope  you get it sorted with not too much stress

Was about 170ish! We will never know the reason why it went.

It should hopefully be done quite quick now christmas and new year are out of the way. My brother has asked the guy who supplies all the turbo's for the focus RS lot for one (My brother has one of his hybrid ones) so hopefully getting a price tomorrow!

In your opinion do you reckon it was the remap extra power putting stress on turbo ?

They are the climair ones, were approx £50! Yeah they are good, water still drips in occasionally but they do reduce wind noise a fair bit. There was a review in the product review part of the forum a while ago

Slight turbo news, I can get a standard re-furbed one £460 delivered or a standard hybrid one for £600 with cut back blades so it spools quicker, compressor side has the housing machined for a bigger compressor wheel. But im not sure if this will run without another remap and other bits and bobs! Any pointers?

Cheers all

Happy days, bet you're glad the turbo didn't wreak havoc elsewhere when it popped.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Good news mate, is it just a case of fitting the turbo and turn on, or will it have to be set up.
