They look great, but definitely an investment! I might get some one day, I'll have to think of it as spending the money, I'd otherwise be spending on labour, by doing work myself.

I went down each side of the car with the machine polisher, it was good polishing weather until some showers came! I might do the roof next weekend, there's a couple of scratches there that look like they might need wet sanding. I'm not going to bother with the bonnet and front bumper as they both need a respray ideally.

I Used Meguires Microfiber pad with 105 compound, then used some old Menzurna 3000 I had leftover to polish. Some of the deeper marks are still there but the swirls have gone, I think I need a more powerful polisher to really get these. Finished off with some chemical guys wax. I hope to get some Obsession Rose edition wax at some point. It took two hours per side.

Proper gleaming Neil. Well done mate. I need to pull my finger out and get mine polished up, looks good after a good clean but polishing is the extra touch

Spent yet more money on the Eddy  .... At AKS for a Helix organic and OEM DMF. Also thought what the hell ... live once and topped up with some Vibratechnics engine mounts. My yearly budget now blown ... until the next time

The old clutch wasn't in too bad shape at 135k and still had some life in it but needs must as Stage 1 on the plans for next year with walnut blast and injector sort out.

How much was your clutch setup? did you get the braided line fitted aswell? Let me know what it feels pedal weight ect. I'm Going to R-tech for mapping next month, so suspect I'll need to start saving for this next!

Sitting down? About 800+ 4 hours labour and yes the braided line for about 90.

Early days on the clutch so a bit sharp sometimes at the moment and about 15% to 20% more pedal weight than OEM. Its noticeable but not troublesome. Just getting used the bite at the moment which is lower and since I do mostly dual carriageway it wont be an issue. Needs about 500 miles of bedding in which I will do in a couple of weeks, change, change, change  Then I think it should smooth out and be slightly more progressive.

Btw love your shiny red one  Get some genuine projectors on it 

This is all in prep for Stage 1 next year as already done a BCS cat back too.

I've just bought my car - a 2005 MkV five door manual. Silver with dark grey heated leather interior. I've cleaned and reconditioned the leather and had to replace the driver's door latch which had stopped working on the key fob... Found a used one on ebay for £25 delivered, so quite pleased with that and all works fine. Relied on a walk through by the Humble Mechanic on You Tube which was excellent. Also changed the cabin filter and about to give it a good service (oil, oil filter, air filter, cam follower, fuel filter, spark plugs and coil packs) - looking forward to working on it!

Thanks! That's less than I thought it would be I assume closer to the £1000 mark. I do most work on the car myself but getting a gearbox out on a gravel driveway, I'd have to give a miss!

Fitted a new low pressure fuel injection sensor, all of 5 minutes.

The ED30 had some TLC at the garage today:

Minor Service with some fresh Castrol Edge Professional 5W30
New cam follower
Cambelt and Water pump changed - turns out the water pump had a slight leak
New fuel filter
Sunroof rails cleaned and lubed
