The suspension parts were fitted today so here are a few comparisons and pics of the day.....

Stock v's H&R ARB diameter - no weight saving here as they are solid

Stock v's Whiteline front droplinks - the droplinks are stiffer & lighter

The kit chosen was due to recommendations and good reviews on here and other forums....Cheers guys

Surprisingly all the Powerflex bushes were MK5 parts. Part numbers below....

Hmmm, possibly a touch lower at the front maybe?

The coilovers still had to settle in the first pic and have about another inch lowering available both front and rear.

Another pic after a little run and settling the coilovers down.
Golf R gone.

Fitted my ED30 gear knob (crappy iPhone pic).

This afternoon I'm off to the dealers to collect my cam follower, book it in for a service and will probably pick up a couple of bottles of screen wash!

Brake fluid flush at the dealer for €50. Hasn't been done for over 3 years...can't believe the difference in brake feel.

Highly recommended if it's been a while!

Went to the dealers. Booked in for a service on Xmas Eve. They didn't have my cam follower as they ordered the wrong part! Enquired about them doing the cam follower anyway and they were claiming its a nightmare job with at least 5-6 hours labour!!!???

They don't want to do it and are trying to put you off. However you know it's a 30min job...why not mention this and ask them what they're playing at. I think they get so used to dealing with most of their customers who couldn't change a light bulb and are treating you the same way.

Tossers.

I did, but I'd rather get my mate to do i anyway, he works in a VW Indy - just that its in my home town which is 2 hours away so the part is still on order and ill get it done after new year when I'm down there next.

Cool. I just picked one up from my local dealer yesterday. Surprisingly small little thing! Hoping to fit it the day after Boxing Day.
