This Sunday I went for the 1st time to a track day event. It was nearby at Estoril so that was a plus. Unfortunately it rained till the morning of the event, but when it was time to enter the track the sky was much clearer so only had a wet track on the 1st 20 minutes run. The next 3 runs I could enjoy the car fully and learn the cars limits and improve my trajectories. I ended the event really pleased with the car and the experience. That 4th run, already knowing the car and the track, went so much better than the 1st...
Waiting for the 2nd run:
During the lunch break I found this better spot:
Just a couple of track pictures I've gathered so far. I'm waiting for the official pictures to be released:
Arriving at the boxes after the 3rd run:
A great picture of the rear:
Met another fellow track newbie that still needs to upgrade his stock brakes to handle the track:
Noticed that my Ed. 30 needs a bit more power to reach higher speeds faster and it would be much better if I had track tyres instead of Continental SC5. The tyres suffered a bit and I had loss of traction coming out of the corners on WOT. The brakes were perfect, I just needed to learn how much they can brake from +220 km/h (+135 mph) to ~75 km/h (~45 mph). Never felt brake fade during the runs. All the engine temps were awesome. The oil reached 114ºC and the IC never went above 30ºC that I recall of.
Can't wait for the next event!
In Estoril there are only 4 events per year, though...
