Car loaded up last night ready to take to TSR this morning.

Dropped off at TSR. Some compliments on the build so far which was nice to hear. Car should be ready for me to collect Wednesday. A different animal, fingers crossed. Very excited!!

What power are you expecting?
I'm not really expecting any particular number. Drivability is what I want.
But they do think 380 mark is achievable.

Sadly we've had a little bad luck with the golf at TSR for mapping.

Number 1 lambda sensor failure.

VVT not working properly either. They've said it could be a few things but have had to put together a quote with multiple solutions to get a "worst case" idea of pricing.

Could be quite simple as there being a bit of silicone or some other debris just blocking the oil gallery. Which would be best case.

The next thing to try is a well known working used VVT solenoid. Which isn't too bad with pricing either.

Where it could be expensive is if they have to take the timing cover off, change the VVT pulley with the dreaded bolt that rounds and needs drilling out. TSR tell me they're very good at getting them out in one piece.

The other thing they sorted for me was the power steering fault. There was no communication to the steering rack. Upon investigation the small plug on the rack had a bent pin. Quick adjustment to the pin and that sorted it.

They've also seen my rear wheel bearings have a lot of play - very confused as they're brand new. Ordered a new pair for when it's back.

So, all of this as a worst case price along with the mapping £1200 [emoji28] luckily I was sat down. Either way, it needs doing.

Cripes, not what you want when you're so close...

Is it all sorted now?
Getting too old for this...

yeah less than ideal.

Yes all sorted, had a test today to confirm.

"The seals inside the head had gone"

So luckily won't be the worst case price. Back on the rollers today.

Well, it's mapped. Complete different animal!

Very healthy numbers I think personally.

It's certainly a decent peak HP figure. But what impresses me more is the delivery. To make peak bhp at almost redline is impressive and will certainly suit your track car.
Torque as well is nice and late rather than an early dump that tails off.

Looks like it'll be a real weapon out on track.

Took it out at Combe on Saturday. Only the one session and very wet. But was very impressed with how it drove.

Have done a few road miles as well with it dry. It hooks up and shifts really well.

Hi, when you fitted your mocal oil cooler do you still keep the plastic oil filter housing, so if you fit the oil cooler do you loose somewhere to have an oil filter?
