Yep...the TTRS is a damn nice ride from factory. That's not to say the Golf R isnt...

The TTRS is a bit lower to the ground and the cabin space i felt was a bit tighter for my height and weight (6"0, 90kgs).

Performance wise, it's actually quite similar to my Golf R but just not as loud. More linear power delivery but still enough to make you go  :jumping:  :jumpmove:

However the sound coming from the exhaust, even in factory form is much nicer than a stock Golf R exhaust.

Cheers guys ;) But surely there are nicer Golf R's than mine over there in the UK? There are DEFINITELY some sweet, sweet MK5's on here...and you guys have access to all the best bits AND theyre half the price of what we have to pay here!!!  :fighting:

We here in Australia take a lot of inspiration from you guys over there, esp shows like Worthersee, etc!

Few more updates coming

35,000km service (using MOTUL Specific 504/507 engine oil + change filter + checking brake fluids + getting rid of squeals when braking)

OEM Audi R8 red coilpacks
OEM Audi R8 oil + coolant caps (already on the car)

Forge DV-to-intake silicone hose
Forge Oil Catch Can with windscreen wiper bottle replacement
Forge DV FMFSITVR recirc version with yellow spring

Dont see R's very often around me, infact cant think of any ive seen one locally, theres only 1 or 2 mk5 gti's down here. Ive got a mate in oz and he was suprised i purchased a gti because theyre so expensive over there (which im amazed at as we get raped tax wise) $20,000 (£13,300ish) for one with more mileage and less specced crazy money!

But yeah, yours is a beaut! I want an R as my next car  :happy2:

Evoms DV may be a better option than the Forge offering Stephen.

Some nice spec upgrades there too. :happy2:

Stick with the stock DV or do the supersize if your non dsg.

My forge started sticking and causing the car to stall, i went back to the standard revision d and tuck the forge spacer off along with it and the car felt loads better.

Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiint motor btw :happy2:

THanks guys  :happy2:

ive heard some conflicting info re: the Forge DV which is why im reluctant to put it on....it seems its a very hit and miss?

People say that the Rev D DV that the car comes with is best for the application unless I want to go big turbo or anything like that

thoughts?

Rev D is a piston design, won't fail but may leak.  Rev G, diaphragm design, holds boost better, but can tear over time.

This guy is using the TTS DV :http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,60260.0.html

Wonder if it's any stronger than the D or G?

Very interesting... any part numbers floating about for the TTS DV?  Wouldn't mind trying it, if it's not a silly price.

Yeah, it sucks how that is isnt it? but then again it seems like people will take the failing of the Rev D to the tearing of the Rev G. I know a lot of pple who made the switch from G to D

Still think Evoms if you want to go aftermarket. :happy2:

I didnt even know EVOMS had a DV for the MK6 R. Any good? Better than Forge?

Interested as well...would you know the part number? Im guessing it would be a direct bolt fit?
