As the owner of a pretty much standard 1.9 diesel you have just became my hero. Lovely car and some nice performance figures!

After reading it I am rather tempted to do some performance upgrades to my 1.9. Will have to have a chat with you at GTI fest about it :)

200bhp would be nice,  :rolleye:

Will be interesting to see how low your JOM's are compared to mine

Hi Jamie

glad to see you have found your way over here :happy2:

you will start spending more now that you are here too :signLOL:

Hey Eddie, yeah probably..  :scared:  That being said things seem to be pretty reasonably priced which is a plus. No doubt I'll be hitting you up for more parts soon.

Welcome aboard Jay. We are a friendly bunch on here. Glad to see you here as well as UKMKIV'S  :happy2:

Thanks mate. Lots of the Mk5ers it seems over there post up here too! :happy2:

Your golf is awesome and you've gone through ALOT! Your golf has helped you through hopefully :)

Thanks buddy, yeah I don't know what would have happened if I didn't have the car. The way I look at it, without setbacks you can't appreciate it when everything is going well.  :popcornsoda:

Wow, great transformation!

Cheers pal.

Just enjoyed reading this through ..I also have a 1.9 105 tdi ..ive had mine mapped but mine only made 142.2bhp  ..I don't find mine any better on fuel though ?

Glad you liked it dude.
Who did the map? Anything between 140 and 150 is about normal for these engines bud.  :happy2:

Thanks buddy. Yeah, it's not bad at all, I think it's one of the fastest 1.9s in the country, everyone seems to only ever mod the 2.0.  :rolleye:

Yeah dude absolutely. It's very expensive after you get past a remap, you would need to uprate the clutch when going past around 160bhp as it will start to slip... you'd need to upgrade brakes, suspension, roll bars... On engine tuning alone I've probably spent over £4000.. as the clutch and turbo kit alone came to around £2600 in total, not forgetting the injectors and the other maps I've had over the years.  :scared:

It's a BKC as the car is 04, I don't think BXE came along until later. I wouldn't worry about it bud, there's a Leon with a BXE on Darksides site, running over 260bhp and so far that's fine. I think it's like the old Mk4 PD150 camshaft issues... it just happens or doesn't happen.

I can confirm that this car goes well... I would definitely see Darkside Development if I landed back in a mk5 diesel  :happy2:

Welcome. I recognise your username from the UKMKIV's forum, I never realised you'd taken your car this far - all credit to you.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Thats where mine will be going

Yeah dude it's definitely worth it. Their labour rates are pretty decent to be honest.

now this is what i call TDI tuning!

:happy2: I won't be pushing it much further at this mileage, only tweaking and refining what I have at the moment. I might fit slightly larger injectors to allow it to make the power with a lower injection duration but that's no great rush.

Cheers man. On Uk-mkivs because the build thread is like 45 pages of jokes and dogging references things get lost over time. I've had people think I just have a standard Mk5, they don't often realise the work and money that has gone into it. But hey, doesn't matter too much.

Thought you might have fitted pd150 ARL injectors ?  These would give you the flow you need

Hey buddy, that's not quite true. The PD150 and PD130 injectors are both the same, they have the same part number. The only difference engine wise on the PD150 over the PD130, was the fact it came with an OEM front mount and the turbos had slightly different internals.  :happy2:

What about the pd150 cam problem? Are the cams the same?

Apparently it was just a bad batch in 2002 on the cam problem with the 150's
